Tivoli Ventures leads $3 million seed round in Notey

Ljubljana, Slovenia – September 2026 – Tivoli Ventures is pleased to lead the $3 million seed round in Notey, an AI-powered music education platform that turns learning and practising a real instrument into an interactive gaming experience.

Founded by Slovenian guitarist and entrepreneur Mak Grgic together with technologist and musician Adithya Bellathur, Notey combines real-time audio recognition, AI and game-based learning to make music practice more engaging and accessible. The platform allows students to use real instruments to control the game, bringing together music education and the mechanics that make games compelling.

Notey has already reached more than 100,000 users and is used across 60 schools in four school districts. The new round, led by Tivoli Ventures and co-led by Malta Venture Capital, also includes a $1 million non-dilutive development grant from Malta Enterprise.

The investment will support Notey’s next stage of international growth, including the establishment of its European operation in Malta, which will serve as a hub for product and engineering, partnerships with schools and conservatories, and European distribution. The company has also entered into a distribution partnership with Telemach Slovenija, opening the door to families across Slovenia and the wider Balkans.

Notey is continuing to expand its platform with the launch of WorldBuilder, an AI-native tool enabling users to create their own music-learning game worlds, as well as support for additional instruments and voice.

At Tivoli Ventures, we are proud to lead this investment and support the Notey team as they build a global platform at the intersection of education, music, gaming and AI.
